The Evolution of … KLesure

If you’re going to tell your story, you must begin at the beginning. This isn’t the “very” beginning, but it is a “beginning … of sorts”. These are the young ladies in the Show Choir of Memphis Central High (“THE” High School) in 1987-1988. I was a 17 year old High School Senior (3rd from left)!!! 💃🏽💃🏽 Making the “elite” choir was a HUGE deal for a shy, self conscious young girl with very little self confidence and even less self esteem.🥹😔

See … my best friend Ron (RIL 😇🕊), the “only” person at school who knew I could sing a little (besides my Sister 😊), talked me into auditioning for Ms. Minter’s class. I did it with fear, trembling and my back TURNED away from the Teacher singing Whitney Houston’s “Saving All My Love” (I know, y’all 🤦🏾‍♀️😂🤣). Anyhoo, I MADE THE CHOIR!!! 🤸🏾‍♀️ Now it didn’t stop me from being shy or embarrassed to sing in front of people, but it worked MIRACLES to increase my confidence.😁☺️ My dreams of singing and performing before audiences were set into motion when I joined the ranks of these gifted kids!! ❤️❤️❤️ P.S. I gained a few solos too!! Mostly Whitney songs … 😘🥰 Thank you for “listening”!! ❤️
